PTO PROJECTS
SCRIP
-
SCRIP is a gift certificate program that costs you nothing more than what you already spend on food, gas, clothes, etc.
$10 certificate = $10 of goods
-
A wide variety of merchants participate like Pick-n-Save, Fleet Farm, McDonalds, Kwik Trip, Kohl's, JC Penney's, Blockbusters, and many more. The profit percentage ranges from 2-13%.
-
Orders can be sent to school with your child, preferably on Mondays. Certificates are sent home by Thursday of the same week, unless they are out of stock. In that case, your order should be filled by the following Monday.
-
You can also designate where you want the profits to go. Students at the JR/SR High have individual accounts since there are more class fees and expenses. Profits for the Elementary go into a project fund designated by the PTO.
-
You can obtain order forms from Oakfield Elementary school or download from the PTO webpage. www.glscrip.com
Market Day
-
Market Day is a cooperative food program that the school has offered since 1992.
-
Each month order flyers are sent home with students at Oakfield Elementary. Order forms must be returned to school by the deadline printed on the form.
-
Orders can also be placed by going on the Market Day website.
-
The food is ordered in bulk and delivered to the school. Volunteers unload the truck and sort the food by categories. Then individual orders are packed.
-
The PTO has assigned a month to each grade at Oakfield Elementary along with the JR/SR High. The assigned grade will receive a portion of the month's profits to purchase items needed for the classroom.
Labels for Education
-
Families are asked to save labels from Campbell's, Pepperidge Farms, Swanson, and Prego products.
-
Some products require saving the cap, lid, or UPC's.
-
Labels from participating Campbell's products are redeemed to purchase various supplies and equipment for the school.

Printer Cartridge Recycling
-
Spent ink cartridges can be dropped off at Oakfield Elementary. These cartridges are then sent to a recycling center who pays cash for them. The profit from this activity is used by the Library to purchase treats and rewards for students bringing in labels, box tops, and milk caps.
Holiday Gift Shop
-
In December, the PTO arranges for students at Oakfield Elementary to do holiday shopping at an in-school store.
-
Students are provided with an envelope that parents use to identify who their children should shop for and how much they can spend. The envelope is returned to school with the appropriate amount of money for the students to use for shopping.
-
The students then shop on a designated day with the assistance of adults or high school students. All gifts are packaged and marked accordingly to their list.
Fruit Sale
-
This sale is conducted in January and February. Students for the Elementary and JR/SR High take orders.
-
The sale offers oranges, grapefruit, and apples. There is even a variety box that contains a specified quantity of each of the fruits.
-
Payment is due when orders are placed.
