Meet Ms. Seager
Hello, my name is Grace Seager. I have been a Speech-Language Therapist in the Oakfield School District since 2000. Prior to that, I worked in the Dodgeland and Horicon School Districts for 4 years. I graduated with my bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Wisconsin -- Oshkosh. I thoroughly enjoy what I do and helping others. I have a very "open door" policy and invite you to stop in my office at the Oakfield Elementary School. I am often asked for advice from parents on things they can try first at home and am more than willing to share my ideas and/or brainstorm with you.
I have experience working with a range of children, mild to severe. I service ages 3 through high school. Prior to 3 years of age, Birth to Three is responsible for assessing and providing therapy in all areas of child development. Upon a child turning 3, the local school district is reponsible for providing services to those children in need. Please see link for further processes and procedures.
I am very active in the elementary school. I currently provide one-to-one, small group and in class therapy on a daily basis to students within the school district. In addition, I work with the Oakfield Child Care Center staff.
In the spring of each school year (typically in February), the district holds a Future Oaks Night for children ages 2 1/2 to 4. All future district students and their parents are invited to attend an informal screening to hear all the wonderful things their children are doing. In addition parents leave with suggestions for things to work on at home to enhance their child's skills in the areas of fine motor, gross motor, speech and language or social development. If you missed the screening, please contact the elementary school (583-3146) if you have concerns regarding your child.
