Course Description: A study of the formation and development of the various world civilizations, from ancient times to the present. Themes will include the development and impact of agriculture and writing on early civilizations, the impact of religions throughout the world, key personalities that have shaped world history, the disparity between resources between cultures and the impact resources has on development and the shifting balance of regional power throughout history. The impact of geography on the success and/or failure of a society will also be examined as part of each unit.
